As a former New Orleanian and now Texan, I am a Board Certified Gastroenterologist on the North East and North Central side of San Antonio. I completed my Bachelors of Art at Manhattanville College with Honors; then obtained my Master’s Degree in Biochemistry at Tufts University, then onward to Harvard University for my Medical Degree.
Internship and Residency were at Southwestern University, Dallas, TX and I completed a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
My practice began in downtown San Antonio but quickly moved to the North East area. Initially at Northeast Baptist Hospital only, I am now practicing at North Central Baptist and at Methodist Stone Oak. In 2007, an Endoscopy Center was started – THEDA Oaks Endoscopy Center, where the majority of my outpatient procedures are performed.
Also, at my office, there is an Infusion Center for Biologic Therapy for IBD. In addition, Capsule Endoscopy for diagnosis of obscure bleeding and abdominal pain are available with a Smart Pill to determine GI Tract Motility.
All of Gastroenterology excites me, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Hepatic Dysfunction, GERD, and Peptic Ulcer Diseases, Biliary, and Pancreatic Diseases. My mission is building healthier lives through compassion, excellence, and engagement.
I have been on the board of San Antonio Zoological Society and the San Antonio Children’s museum. I participate in various community organizations including the San Antonio Links, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. St. Anthony De Padua is my church.
Oil painting and photography are my passion, my photographs and paintings are on display at my office. When I am not working, Pilates and yoga feed my spirit. I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, my husband, and my two adult sons who are into Computer Analytics. My love is my dog BAM who is a cranky 14-year-old Dachshund.
